"The Best Is Yet To Come"

A memorial service, celebrating the life of Pastor Allan Hansen, will be held on Sunday, November 23rd at 3 pm (PST). The celebration service will take place at Christian Renewal Center in the Rotunda, with overflows in both the Main Lodge and the Good Shepherd Lodge. The two overflow locations will have a live video feed coming from the Rotunda so those in the Main Lodge and Good Shepherd will be able to participate in the entire service.

After the service, there will be refreshments in all three buildings, with an opportunity for guests to mingle from building to building. We hope this will give you the chance to reminisce on Allan's life with others. The Hansen family will be in the Main Lodge after the service to greet and fellowship with all.

Pastor Tim Hansen will officiate the service, and there will be sharing by various family members. Worship music will be played by Arlene Harouff, with a slideshow presentation as well.

There will be limited parking near the buildings, so we encourage anyone who can to car pool. Extra parking is available up at Hilltop Lodge (you can drop guests off, then park). While we know that many of you may want to dress for the service, it would be a good idea to wear shoes that would be suitable for the CRC terrain and possible wet weather.

For those who would like to volunteer to help with parking, chairs, refreshments, etc, please contact Tim and Julie Hansen at either info@christianrenewalcenter.org or 503/873-7743. We need about 10 people.

If you have questions about the service, you may contact the center at the email or phone number above. You can also visit the website for address, map, and other information. http://www.christianrenewalcenter.org/. The Hansen family and the CRC staff look forward to spending this special time with those who share their love for Allan Hansen.

Allan was truly a man of God. We enjoyed our short time with him and the Family.
May Our Lord continue to bless Eunice and the entire Hansen Family.

Alan blessed us when we were newly married and he and Eunice were so close to my husband's family. We will be there, hopefully early enough to pitch in. Jennifer Sinclair

Allan was a Titan in the Kingdom of God. He was a discipler and mentor to me and many others. A ferocious contender for the Truth and Power of the Word and Spirit.

He will be greatly missed but his legacy will continue.

Dear Eunice, Tim and Julie, all Hansen family and greater CRC family;
I was deeply saddened to learn this morning of Allan's death on November 14. And yet "weeping may last for a nighttime but joy comes in the morning." He will be greatly missed. And I remember many "heavenly festivals" with the Sisters of Mary and singing "O that we were there." Allan invested his life in sharing the love of Jesus and serving. Our family has been blessed many times over by your sweet ministry and hospitality. Though we cannot be with you in person on the day of the memorial service, please know that we hold you closely in our hearts and prayers. A true saint of God has now "entered into the joy" of his Master. I remember how excited Allan would be when talking about heaven...what an encouragement. May God's tender comfort surround and strengthen you today and in the days to come.

I felt at a loss for words last night when I read the blog and saw that Allan had gone on to be with the Lord (we'd just gotten the card)....so I'm writing more today...I feel so much sadness and joy at the same time. It's hard to think that Allan is gone, yet we all know we will have our own homegoing to look forward to. I look with expectation to the day when we will all be with the Lord. It sounds like Allan's homegoing was very special. You, Eunice, and Allan have always been an inspiration to us. Your unflagging work, selflessness and gentle hearts have influenced countless lives. I remember meeting you at Renewal House in LA in the summer of 1972. I thought it was amazing (and crazy) the work you were doing there!
Bless you, bless you, bless you...

Dear Eunice and Hansen Family:

This morning I received the card telling us that Allan was so very ill. When I logged onto the CRC website I learned of his home-going.

I want all the world to know what heaven already knows and that is that Allan and Eunice were a very important part of my walking with the Lord and serving him. In 1971, through a series of divine circumstances, I ended up at Renewal House in LA. I was one of those hippies who was a substance abuser and so much more that Allan loved and discipled. Even though I was only at Renewal House for a few months, my life was changed forever. I went from there with a sense of God’s call to ministry and shortly after leaving Renewal House I entered the ministry and have been serving the Lord through the local church every since.

In August of 2007 we had a Renewal House reunion at CRC and Allan invited me to be the morning Bible teacher. Allan was gracious to me and complimented my teaching ability. I give God the glory for the gift of teaching, but I also tried to tell Allan and Eunice that they deserve some of the credit for any success I have had because it was their ministry to me in 1971 that set the stage for these many years of service.

I am sorry to say that I won’t be with you for the memorial service, but I am very thankful that God allowed me to be with Allan and Eunice at CRC just over a year ago. We may never see one another this side of heaven, but we will be together again one day.

You are loved and will be prayed for.

Your brother and “son” in the Lord,

"O that we were there; O that we were there!" ~Seeing the face of Jesus; being in God's glorious presence; seeing through the dark glass and through the veil, those things that we now hold by faith.
Our hearts also are saddened, yet also joy-filled. Pastor Hansen is HOME!
And what a beautiful testimony of a God-anointed homegoing day! Truly, "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints!"
Dear Eunice,
love, tender hugs, and comfort to you now.
What special care the Father has given/will continue to give you.
"Where else shall we go? You alone have the words of eternal life."

We all praise the Lord for your lives. The St. Olaf days of God's Spirit moving and foundational work done there, the Friday night services at Renewal House, LA, the retreats with the Sisters of Mary, and the extra bonus of a YWAM outreach meeting in Mexico City '86, -- as well as the recent times of prayer together at the "alumni" gatherings in Garden Grove.
Love and blessings to each of you, in this precious time.
With tender thoughts and prayers,
the Oscar Reiss family,
Uta, Karin :o)

Wow - God is gracious and good. Life changed quickly, and those of us here will miss Allan, but it's amazing how God cared for this special servant and child. Thank you for sharing these special moments with us. I met Allan and Eunice as a child and now am serving Christ in Japan - thank you so much for your prayers and encouragement of our ministry here. Eunice, we will be in the States next Spring and hope we can see you then. I'm sure the service this next weekend will be special. We love you and are praying for you here in Japan.

What a wonderful testimony! He passed through the heavenly gate the same way he lived his life. And what wonderful blessings he has had on so many lives! What a precious soul and what a precious wife.
Eunice you were and are his treasure. I'm thankful for you.

I don't see how I can get to the service on Sunday but I will try.
I'm so thankful that I was able to hug him and visit with him in the spring.
All my love to your whole family,

Mary Smith

The best part of life's journey is the people we meet along the way, like our beloved Pastor Allan. His life and testimony inspired us all. Who can forget the early days at Old Camp Seeley? I had the privilege of serving on the Board at Christian Renewal Center and driving young men in the program to and from the Renewal Center in Oregon.
Chuck and I had the privilege of driving Allan to look at acreage in Silver Falls State Park that would become Renewal Center. Allan goes before us to prepare a place. We join countless others in celebrating his life.

Pastor Allan is one of the greatest men who has ever lived. He has inspired hope in countless people through his unconditional love. He is definitely one of my heroes and has been since I met him 30 years ago. I was so blessed to be at his memorial service on Nov. 23rd. It was beautiful to see all those who were able to come and celebrate his life - only a small portion of those who wanted to be present, but what a fabulous turnout!
Something Allan's granddaughter Carrie said inspired me. Carrie mentioned how camp visitors would say to her, "he's like a grandpa to me." Carrie would think, "but he IS my grandpa." That summed up the greatness of Allan for me. He had so much of the love of Jesus in him that his family was secure in his love, but so many others felt that love deeply too. His love for me did not replace his love for someone else. His love for his family was strong and secure, but he had so much more love to give. Allan truly reflected the Father heart of God: He had enough room for everyone! Physical restrictions of only being able to be in one place at one time were about the only limit of Allan sharing the Father heart of God with others.
Thank you, Eunice, for uniting with Allan and building the dream! I am so glad you did because I would never have met you or so many other wonderful people! Thank you for being willing to share your husband as a minister - he truly did reflect the heart of the Good Shepherd. Thank you Terry and Ellen, Brad and Marilyn, Tim and Julie, and all of the precious grandchildren of Allan: thanks for sharing him with all of us!
Love, Carol (Moshofsky) Wagar
